Like everything else, you really need to plan the building of your tiki bar before you get started. The whole planning process will help you build a better and more reliable structure. Things you should consider before you start are things is this going to be a permanent bar. This is usually the case unless of course you decide to build a portable tiki bar.
The budget is also a very important component. If you want to build a big bar your are obviously going to need more funds. Choosing recyled materials can help you cut your budget in half, so you may want to consider that if you have limited funds.
Getting yourself a guide with plans and ideas, maybe a very good idea. This guide should have detailed plans and diagrams, and should be written by a professional. One with actual photographs would be better than one which only has sketched diagrams.
This is going to be a hands on job, in which you are going to use the right tools and equipment for your project. Make sure you test your tools to ensure that they are in good working order. If you have any that need oiling or some that need new parts, try to replace them before you begin your job.
With your tools and plans ready, it's time to purchase your materials. You can usually purchase all your required materials from the local hardware stores and building yards. The standard height for tiki bars is 42 inches. For the frame you will need two by fours. Just follow your plans to the tea to get your frame constructed.
Once the frame is all nailed up and in place, use the plans again to fill in the empty spaces. You are going to have to install the bar counter and for the roof palm leaves always have the best effect. You can actually purchase quality treated palm leaves, and these can last from seven to ten years. Your roof should be strong enough to withstand heavy rains and snow.
The bar construction is almost complete. You know just need a bamboo fence all the way on the outside to give your bar the tiki bar look. You can load up your tiki bar with other fancy finishings such as a sink, a fridge, some shelves and of course glass racks for your glasses.
Last but definitely not least, your guests are going to need somewhere to sit, so don't forget the bar stools. You can carve your bamboo fence with tropical themed carvings. If you want to go all out some sea shells and even a tiki statue will go a long way in bringing your new tiki bar to life.
With those little finishing your bar is now ready to host its first party. You can call your friends and family and invite them to a tropical themed party at your house next weekend. Your tiki bar is going to be the main guest and everyone is going to love it.
