Chilled Wine Is Great With A BBQ
You will be pleased that you have a wine fridge when the barbie you planned is on a nice hot day. The flavour is really controlled by the temperature of the wine.
When you are storing bottles of wine where they are kept is important but the correct temperature is paramount. It makes long term storage better which helps the state of the wine and, more importantly, the flavour.
To get the real taste of a bottle of wine it does need many years to reach its maturity. Set the gauge to keep the temperature at a maximum of 65 degrees F and a minimum of 50 degrees F. It will mature more efficiently at this level.
Refrigerators have only been around for a relatively short while. People used to have cellars underground for wine storage or maybe even in caves. All big houses had their own wine cellars in fact.
We are so lucky these days. It is so much simpler to get the right temperature. It is a lot easier with refrigeration.
In the maturing of wine, there are various chemical reactions taking place, according to scientific research. There actually can be good reactions or bad reactions.
It helps to know that we can control this by keeping a control over the temperature. Keeping the wine stored with the range of temperatue that we talk about is the key to this.
Although the vine needs a lot of direct sunlight in its growing process, once bottled this same sun will damage the texture and flavour of the wine. If you do not avoid this you will notice a browning of the wine caused by an oxidisation chemical reaction.
Your pleasure in drinking it will not be there so it might as well be flushed down the toilet if this happens. The wine shelves in the shops would not be able to have it on display.
A wine cooler or wine refrigerators are necessary to keep the wine between taking it out of the cellar and actually drinking it.
It will not mature properly for a much longer time if kept somewhere it is extra cold. You would still be able to drink the wine but it would not taste as good.
If you open a bottle of wine but do not drink it all, the 40 degree F temperature of a standard refrigerator is perfect to keep it in. It has never happened to me. It always seems to get empty very quickly.
Do not uses wine fridges to keep the wine in prior to opening for very long though. They are much too cold for that. It is not only a wine enthusiast who can derive lots of happiness from sipping wine from a glass.
You can have the same pleasant experience as long as you put your portable fridge to the correct use.
